CANDIDATES hoping to be elected Bromsgrove's MP for the next five years have been making a final push for votes ahead of tomorrow's general election.

After weeks of campaigning, including husting events, the candidates will be hoping they have done enough to convince voters as they head to the polls.

Nationally, polls suggest the election is still too close to call with another hung parliament looking likely, and post election deals possible.

As a result the Conservative Party will be hoping to hold Bromsgrove - a seat the party has held since 1974.

Sajid Javid has served as the town's MP for the past five years. The former businessmen won the seat with 22,558 votes - 43 per cent of the vote - at the 2010 election.

During the five years he has gone on to have a rapid rise through the party ranks, resulting in him being appointed Culture Secretary in 2004, a position he has held since.

Voters this time will have a choice of five candidates at polling booths.

The full list of candidates are Sajid Javid, Conservative, Tom Ebbutt, Labour, Bart Ricketts, Liberal Democrat, Giovanni Esposito, Green Party, and Stuart Cross, UKIP.

Betting firms across the country are making a Conservative victory an odds on 1/100, with UKIP's candidate predicted to finish second at a price of around 20/1.

Labour are predicted to come third, at 33/1, with Liberal Democrats and the Green Party priced at 100/1.
