A BROMSGROVE man is facing a long jail sentence after a jury found him guilty of rape and nine other sex offences against two young girls.
Ian Pitts, of Carol Avenue, was found guilty at Worcester Crown Court after a six-day trial.
The jury of eight men and four women took just over two hours to find the 80-year-old guilty of crimes including rape, assault by penetration, sexual assault and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
The girls were aged under 13 at the time in 2009 and 2010.
Judge Robert Juckes, QC, remanded Pitts in custody and warned him he would be facing a significant jail term due to the seriousness of the offences. He is due to return to court for sentencing on Monday, May 11.
