A BROMSGROVE family-run farm is opening its doors to the public for its latest event forming part of a national scheme.

Chadwich Manor Farm is taking part in the Open Farm Sunday campaign.

The day is designed to give people a better idea of how farms work, as well as giving them a closer look at farm animals.

The Bromsgrove event is being held at Lizzie's Farm, Chadwich Manor Farm, on Sunday, June 7, from 10am under 4pm.

Members of the public get to meet lots of the farm's animals including Belter the pigmy goat.

There will also be tasty samples to try in the farm shop, including home grown Highland beef, pork sausages and Worcestershire cheeses.

Visitors will also have time to browse around the British craftman's gallery, and enjoy a cup of tea and home-made cake.

Anyone going to the farm is encouraged to bring a picnic, and enjoy the free day for the family.

Organisers ask that dogs are left at home, as they may upset other animals on the farm.

Farmer John said: "We think this is a great opportunity for us to share the lives we lead on the farm with everyone.

"We forget that some children have very few opportunities to get close to animals.

"We just hope to make the day one the whole family will enjoy and remember."
