A BROMSGROVE-based hospice has unveiled a stunning new children's garden.
The garden has been designed by award winning local designer Olivia Kirk, and is intended to offer a safe space for children to help them explore their feelings whilst dealing with bereavements.
Children named the centrepiece a dragon and decided to call it Godwald - inspired by the road name the hospice is in, St Godwald's Road.
The dragon circles a specially-designed and award-nominated garden, along hopscotch paving, a patio and an area with a fire pit.
The children receive specialist support from the hospice's children's and family worker, as they either have a family member with a life threatening illness, or have been been bereaved of a loved one, often a parent.
The garden has been nominated for a prestigious Association of Professional Landscapers Award.
Helen Crook, from the hospice, said: "Audrey Bishop kindly donated the cost of building the garden, and the garden was opened by her daughter Frances, on her behalf.
"Children helped by Primrose were invited to the celebration, and had a fun afternoon of activities, including a bouncy castle kindly lent to Primrose by Bromsgrove’s Broad Street DIY."
