BROMSGROVE MP Sajid Javid dropped in to cut the ribbon, and launch the new modernised Rubery Post Office recently.

The new post office on New Road in Rubery has increased its opening hours by 13 hours a week, adding later weekday closing as well as now opening on Saturdays.

We hope our customers like their new Post Office and we would like to thank MP Sajid Javid for taking time from his busy schedule to come here. We’d also like to thank the local community for their continued support and use of the branch.”

Mr Javid added: "I’m pleased to be here to formally open the modernised Rubery Post Office and I would like to congratulate Devendra on his hard work, the branch looks great.

“The Post Office is vital to the community in this area and I'm sure the improved environment, and the longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by the community."

The improvements mean that the post office now provides services from four counter positions, with a modern screened position, two open-plan counters and a combi-counter, where the Post Office terminal sits alongside the retail till.

The branch is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
