THE expected move of Bromsgrove District Council to the Parkside building has been delayed again - with no firm date now set for it to take place.

At the latest meeting of the full council, council leader Margaret Sherrey announced that the authority's move during October had now been postponed.

It is the latest setback in the saga of the opening of the £6.9 million hub of council services - set to feature a new library, register office, a Job Centre Plus, council offices, a district council chamber and a customer service centre.

The authority was originally meant to move into the Stourbridge Road-based building before June, before this was then pushed back to September, then October.

In making the announcement at the meeting, on September 23, Cllr Sherrey said she was regrettably making the announcement, and no new date had been announced.

Councillor Chris Bloore, the deputy leader of the opposition Labour group, asked questions about the costs of the delays. Cllr Sherrey replied that any costs would be shared by the portfolio holder, when they had them.

The latest announcement follows the Advertiser report in September on how Bromsgrove Library's widely publicised move to the hub, opening on October 5, was cancelled.
