STAFF at Specsavers in Bromsgrove were glowing for their customers recently to raise money for charity.

The members of staff all donned neon outfits to raise smiles and cash from their customers as part of fundraising efforts for Guide Dogs Week, which had a theme this year of ‘Let’s Glow’.

Local Guide Dog volunteers brought their own canine companions into the store, and there was more fun to be found from home-made cakes on sale, as well as henna and face painting, and prizes donated from local businesses.

Store director, Mark Gibson, said: “Specsavers has supported Guide Dogs for many years and we are always overwhelmed by the generous support of our customers. A donation of £5 could support a working guide dog partnership for a day, so every pound we raise will make a real difference.”

Staff at the Bromsgrove store managed to raise £450 from the day.

Guide Dogs Week ran from October 3-11, asking people to wear neon colours throughout the week. Fundraisers have hosted Let’s Glow party fundraisers, coffee mornings, bake sales with neon iced cakes, neon parties with themed costumes, and many even took their own blackout selfies in neon glow in the dark make-up.
