CHRISTMAS shoppers in Bromsgrove are getting a little bit of an extra treat this year, with free parking in town centre car parks.
Visitors to the town on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 will be able to enjoy free parking for an unlimited time.
The scheme has been set up to help boost customers for Small Business Saturday, a national scheme which is aimed at encouraging people to use their local independent shops in the run up to Christmas.
The council is also extended the free parking for Saturday, December 19, and Sunday, December 20, to encourage more people to shop in the town centre.
Bromsgrove district councillor Peter Whittaker, whose portfolio covers car parking, said: “We want our residents and visitors from further afield to support our local shops, particularly at Christmas time.
“The district has a mix of High Street names and independent shops and I hope people come and see for themselves, and continue to return.”
