A BURGLAR has admitted stealing from an Indian restaurant in Bromsgrove and three shops in Worcester city centre.

Drug user James Marson pleaded not guilty to six other charges of burglary at commercial premises in Worcester, Droitwich and Bromsgrove.

The pleas were accepted and Paul Whitfield, for the prosecution at Worcester Crown Court, said they would not pursue a trial.

Judge Robert Juckes, QC, said it would make no difference to the overall sentence due to the 37-year-old's previous convictions.

Marson, of no fixed address, admitted burglary at the Tandoori Indian Restaurant in Crown Close, Bromsgrove, on August 3, where he stole £200.

He also admitted burglary at three Worcester shops, Smoker's Angel in Pump Street, where he took £150 cash between August 19 and August 22, The Paint Box, and Jessica's Sweet Shop where he took a £5 note on June 1.

A pre-sentence report was ordered with the option of a drug rehabilitation requirement to be considered. Marson was remanded in custody and is due to return to court for sentencing on January 4.
