SHOPPERS and staff at a Bromsgrove supermarket rushed to the aid of a man who collapsed in front of them in the store.
West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Asda in Market Street shortly after 10.05am yesterday (Sunday, January 24) when the victim had fallen ill.
Shoppers took to social media to say a customer rushed to administer first aid on the man while staff put up screens around him before paramedics took over.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a 999 call at 10.06am to reports of a man that had collapsed at the supermarket. An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended.
“A man received emergency treatment from medics at the scene and this then continued as he was transferred to the Alex Hospital for further emergency treatment.”
A spokesman for Asda, Bromsgrove confirmed that a man had been taken ill at the store before being taken to hospital.
