BROMSGROVE is below the average broadband coverage level for England, according to recent figures released by ThinkBroadband.com.

The percentage of Bromsgrove residents with access to superfast broadband has risen gradually since March 2015 thanks to broadband roll-outs, but more than 8% of Bromsgrove households still have coverage of below 15mpbs.

According to yesterday’s updated figures, almost 90% of England has access to broadband coverage of over 30mbps, compared to around 85% of Bromsgrove.

Andrew Ferguson, editor at ThinkBroadband.com, said: “While Bromsgrove is below the English level of coverage, in time scale terms Bromsgrove is where England was back in October 2014, so as long as the roll-outs continue the picture in Bromsgrove should get better.”

ThinkBroadband.com advises residents to check what broadband options are available to them and decide based on speed estimates given by various providers.

Mr Ferguson added: “Above 5mbps, HD video streaming becomes possible, and then as you go faster you find you can do more and more for example cope with the kids watching a film on tablets while you stream to the main TV too.”

Today’s results follow a rise in superfast broadband coverage since December 2015, which may indicate the start of better broadband access in Bromsgrove for 2016.
