GOOD morning. We are here to provide any information on incidents that might crop up throughout the rush hour period this morning on our Black Country and North Worcestershire roads.

So far the roads across the area are pretty quiet but a crash between a car and a lorry on the A38 in Rubery has caused heavy traffic between Callowbridge Road and M5 J4 (Lydiate Ash).

Traffic is also at a standstill on the M5 northbound which is closed due to over running roadworks between J5 A38 (Droitwich / Wychbold) and J4A M42, with congestion on M5 to J6 A449 / A4440 Warndon Way / A4538 Pershore Lane (Worcester).

Travel time is currently around 70 minutes as the overnight closure was due to finish at 6am however the closure maybe in place until around 8am, with the diversion taking drivers onto the A38.

Because of these incidents, it has caused slow traffic in Bromsgrove on the A38 northbound between Stratford Road / Regents Park Road and M42 J1.

There are also other areas of planned roadworks which are causing delays, these include: temporary traffic lights in Cookley on A449 Wolverhampton Road at Castle Road, until February 5, while delays are also expected on A38 Birmingham Road in Catshill, by The Marlbrook, between Golden Cross Lane / Braces Lane and Woodrow Lane, until February 12.

Delays are also being caused in Quarry Bank due to roadworks on A4100 High Street between Victoria Road and Merry Hill. The work is taking place there to improve traffic lights and bus shelters in a bid to ease congestion around the Merry Hill shopping centre until June 30.

Temporary traffic lights on Birchfield Road in Redditch, at Foxlydiate Lane outside The Old Post Office are also causing delays, while one lane closed on the A4123 New Birmingham Road in Tividale between Trafalgar Road and Hill Road / Regent Road due to the building of a new cycle path.
