TWO terrified residents in Lowes Hill had to fight off two armed burglars who attempted to force their way into a house through the front door.

The incident occurred between 7.15pm and 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 2 as the victims were closing the front door behind them on the house in Exmoor Drive.

Two people, who are described as having being dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, kicked at the door, and started to try and physically force their way into the property.

The two people inside the house tried to push the door closed on them, but were unable to do so because the offenders were pushing so hard on the door. The offenders then jammed a bin lid into the gap between the door and the door frame to stop the victims from closing the door any further.

The two attackers then put their arms through the gap in the door, one of which was holding a taser, and another was holding what was described as a dagger.

Eventually they ran off, and didn’t manage to gain entry to the property.

Anyone who might have seen the attempted aggravated burglary in progress, seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area, or who knows anything about the incident, is asked to contact West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident no. 0562s020216 or alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
