YOUNGSTERS from St John's Middle School were showing off their dance skills recently as part of a festival to showcase the work of the Epic Dance Academy.
The academy works within schools across north Worcestershire, offering coaching sessions to pupils, and for the showcase held at Bromsgrove School, a group of year five pupils showed off a dance they had learnt in lesson time, while an advanced dance group from years five to eight, performed a piece they had been learning during their lunchbreaks.
After the showcase the advanced group were chosen to receive free coaching from Epic, so that they can learn a Rio-inspired dance routine to be performed as part of Worcestershire own summer games in July of this year.
Teacher Natasha Birmingham, said: “The students have worked really hard and given up their own time to practice. This was a lovely afternoon and great opportunity for the students to show off what they have been doing. They are very excited to have been asked to now perform at the Worcestershire Summer Games.”
