BROMSGROVE Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club (BHC) are celebrating the official opening of their new St Godwald's Park pitch after two decades of failed attempts to bring hockey home to Bromsgrove.

To celebrate, the club are inviting residents to enjoy live music from band Miss Fortunes, free fizz and hog roast, and a host of special guests on the evening of Friday, May 6.

BHC chair Andy Potter said: “A lot of people have played Hockey for Bromsgrove over the years and I think they would be delighted to see we have finally brought the Club back to playing their Home matches in Bromsgrove, rather than Redditch as has been the case for the last 20+ years.

"We are expecting people who will have travelled from outside of the region to join us for this historic and long awaited occasion – it’s set to be a great night with some very special guest players lined up to take part.”

The official opening of the pitch will start at 7pm after a Badgers session with Great Britain Hockey International at 6pm. An exhibition match between BHC Men's first team and a special guest will kick off at 7.45pm.
