DRIVERS faced hours of delays on the M5 near Bromsgrove yesterday after a meat products lorry broke down, spilling animal organs across the road.

At around 4pm on Wednesday, May 4, a blue Mercedes heavy goods vehicle shed a load of offal across two lanes between J5 and J4a, causing severe delays for more than four hours.

Two lanes on the M5 northbound were closed while a specialist clean-up team removed the organs and entrails from the road.

All lanes were re-opened in the early hours of this morning.
