It is people's last chance to apply to have Tea for the Queen on her 90th birthday with applications closing on Friday at 5pm(today).

The celebration will be at the Guildhall, Worcester, on Saturday June 11 between 3pm and 5pm, the date of the Queen's official birthday.

Anyone from the county also celebrating their 90th birthday in 2016 can apply to be there, with a lucky 10 celebrated via a ballot selecting from all the applicants.

Attendees will also be able to bring a guest.

Application forms are available at local libraries and online at worcester.gov.uk, malvernhills.gov.uk and wychavon.gov.uk.

The Mayor of Worcester, Roger Knight: “Everyone born in 1926 has lived through remarkable times alongside The Queen, from the Second World War to her Coronation and beyond.

"Tea for The Queen will give local people a chance to relive the experiences they have shared with Her Majesty.”

The Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Lt Col Patrick Holcroft, said: “The Queen’s 90th birthday is an occasion for national celebration."

"I am delighted to be jointly hosting Tea for The Queen, as it will give Worcestershire people who are reaching the same milestone as Her Majesty the chance to join the celebrations of her remarkable reign."

A wide range of other events will be held across Worcestershire to mark Her Majesty’s birthday, including a flotilla of boats on the river Severn in Worcester.
