A COMPANY restaurant in Wythall has received a prestigious award for its healthy and locally sourced menus.
Phoenix Group in Wythall, which employs around 600 people, received a gold level Healthier Choices Food Award from Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) for its on-site restaurant.
The restaurant’s commitment to a wide variety of healthier choices and use of local produce impressed inspectors, who reported that the restaurant went "above and beyond" the requirements of the award scheme.
Inspectors also praised the restaurant’s work promoting "no waste days".
Nigel Biggs, catering team manager said: “The team are delighted to have achieved the Healthier Choices Food Award (Gold standard) in conjunction with Worcestershire Regulatory Services.
"Staff wellbeing is at the heart of Phoenix’s corporate responsibility agenda so it is important that our on-site restaurant offers choice including a range of healthier meal options. This combined with our other wellbeing activities on site, helps to keep staff fit and healthy at work.”
