THE final Have Your Say roadshow organised by Worcestershire County Council, took place at the Aston Fields Summer Fete in Bromsgrove recently, with scores of people turning out to give their opinions on a number of local issues.

The roadshow, which is now in its sixth year, took to all corners of the county visiting Evesham, Kidderminster, Worcester, Upton on Seven and Redditch before dropping in on Bromsgrove.

Staff took on a different approach than in previous years with a giant ‘Connect 4’ set, where people could state their own priorities for the council by choosing a column to add a token to, and an activity map where people could give their thoughts on county highways by saying what ‘got their goat’ or ‘floated their boat’.

Councillor Simon Geraghty, leader of Worcestershire County Council, said: "I am delighted we have been able to meet so many people. It is always important to hear and understand what issues top each area’s list of priorities. I am very encouraged by the numbers that people that come forward to speak to us this year and had some very useful and informative conversations.

"Over the last six years, the Have Your Say roadshows have proved to be a good way to get out across the county to meet and hear from local people. It is also an opportunity to answer any questions and as well as gather information on the key areas we are focusing on. The roadshows enable us to continue to shape our decisions around those areas that Worcestershire residents tell us are most important to them."

Despite the roadshows coming to an end, any Worcestershire residents over the age of 18 can still give their opinions on council issues by tasking part in the Viewpoint panel at worcestershire.gov.uk/viewpoint.
