SCHOOL's out for the summer holidays and Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is encouraging kids to go wild.

The charity will be stationed at venues across the county to give families ideas on how to enjoy the wildlife on their doorsteps - whether through trails, bug hunts, pond dipping or crafts.

Hannah Thomas, engagement officer for the trust, said: "The long-awaited summer holidays are finally here and we’ve got a packed programme of events to help Worcestershire’s families get out and about.

"There is so much wildlife around us but we’re often so busy that we fail to notice what’s going on under our noses. Our events offer the chance to soak up the wonders of our natural environment while having fun finding out a little more about wildlife.”

Nearby events include minibeast hunting, going nose-to-nose with wildlife under a microscope, discovering nature's colours and identifying wild tracks.

The trust will be taking part in National Play Day at the Lickey Hills on August 3 and finding out more about water voles at Sander's Park on August 19, amongst several more events across Worcestershire.

Park events are free of charge, but booking is essential for others. Check worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/whats-on for more information.
