POLICE are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash near Hebden Bridge that claimed the life of a 21-year-old man believed to be from Wyke.

Officers were called to the scene of the collision at around 11.26am on Thursday following the discovery of Jacob Chothia a short distance from Burnley Road near to the junction of Carr Lane.

A red Yamaha motorcycle and debris was located nearby and enquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of what took place.

It is believed that his motorcycle left the road and collided with a tree sometime after 1.30am on August 10 when he was last seen in Hebden Bridge.

It is understood Mr Chothia had been living in Mytholmroyd.

Sergeant Carl Quinn of the Major Collision Enquiry Team said: "This is a busy stretch of road and I would appeal to anyone that may have been travelling in and around the area who may have seen the motorcycle, or who has any information to come forward. Our enquiries are continuing to understand what has happened."
