RIDERS are getting revved up for the annual classic charity motor cycle scramble which takes place at Middle Hill Park Farm in Hanbury this Sunday.

The meeting will attract many of the country's top riders as it features a round of both the British solo and sidecar championships.

Spectators can also take a trip down memory lane as the riders compete on British machinery from the 1950's to the  1970's.

Famous bikes ranging from BSA, Matchless, Cheney and Rickman will be competing along with European two strokes such as Bultaco, Husqvarna and CZ.

The event will include several stars and works riders from the past and is laced with nostalgia.

Even the track provides enthusiasts with a blast from the past as it was used back in the 1960's and located on a hillside with a long and fast straight that makes for superb viewing.

One of the highlights of the meeting is an award given in honour of the two times world champion Jeff Smith, which always produces a fast and furious race from the top competitors selected on the day.

There is also a round of the recently introduced 'British Thumper' class while there are awards for the most original and best prepared bikes along with trophies for the top three in each class.

The venue can be found on the B4090 from Droitwich at the junction of the B4091 in Hanbury at the rear of the Vernon Arms pub.

Practice starts at 9-30am while racing gets underway at 11am.

Admission is £5 with free entrance for children. Proceeds from the event are given to local Hanbury and church charities.
