POLICE are hunting for a suspected arsonist following an attack on a property in Catshill.

The incident occurred on a property on Epsom Road, Bromsgrove, at around 2.40am on Wednesday, October 19, resulting in fire damage to the front door.

An unknown person approached the front of the property and is believed to have deposited a plastic crate at the front door and set fire to it using an accelerant.

The property had been vacated by the tenant earlier that day.

A man was seen within the area getting into an unknown vehicle which had been waiting on the street and police are keen to hear from anyone with information.

Inspector Sarah Corteen of West Mercia Police said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen any suspicious activity.

"I particularly urge the man seen nearby to contact us as he may have important information that can help us with our enquiries into the cause of this fire."

There is no description of the offender available at this stage.
