A CONTROVERSIAL planning application to build an ash recycling plant on green belt land in Wildmoor will be considered at a meeting at County Hall next month.

Worcestershire County Council's Planning and Regulatory Committee is set to meet at 10am on Tuesday, November 1 within the council chamber in Worcester, and residents are being encouraged to attend.

Fairfield Village Community Association has been campaigning against the proposal since it was made public.

A spokesman for the group said: "Fairfield Village Community Association would like as many people as possible to attend the planning meeting, personalising the planning objection and putting a face to the number of people that could potentially be affected should the aquifer get contaminated.

"The risk to the water supply to 19,500 homes in the Bromsgrove area and to livestock is too great to take.”

Kev's Cars and Coaches is transporting residents from Bromsgrove to County Hall at a cost of £5 per person.

Pick-up points include the Talbot Inn in Belbroughton at 8.40am, the dual carriageway bus stop in Stoneybridge at 8.50am, the Village Hall on the Wood Lane Junction with Yew Tree Lane in Fairfield at 8.55am and Top Road bus stop near Sandy Lane in Wildmoor at 9.05am.
