A GIRL from Bromsgrove has stood up to two of the country’s largest supermarket chains to demand that their “inappropriate” clown costumes be taken off the shelves.

Esme Pettman, 10, of Aston Fields, contacted the Advertiser after spotting the Halloween outfits while shopping with her mum in the Bromsgrove Asda and Morrisons stores.

The suspect entered the Tesco Express store on High Street on September 16 and attempted to buy alcohol.

THE inquest into the death of Leo Barnes, who was on trial for murdering Halesowengrandmother Cynthia Beamond, has ruled he died of suicide.

Leo Barnes was found hung in his cell at HMP Hewell covered in cuts on January 25.

A WOMAN was assaulted after man attempted to steal her handbag as she was walking in Kidderminster town centre.

The incident took place between 2.50am and 2.55am in the early hours of Friday morning (October 21), when a woman in her 20s was walking along St Mary's Ringway, near St Mary's Church, when she was approached from behind by an unknown man who attempted to pull her handbag from her.

A MAN was taken to hospital on Friday afternoon (October 21) after a crash in Amblecote.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash, which saw a van collide with a tree in Brettell Lane, at about 1.30pm.

FIREFIGHTERS helped reunite a dog, which had been trapped for two hours, with its owners in Redditch.

At around 6.30pm on Sunday (October 23) Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue crews from Droitwich fire station were called to a wooded area off Nine Days Lane, in Redditch to rescue a dog, which had been trapped for around two hours.
