A MEMORABLE and fantastic year is how former Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Joanne Dodds, described her term of office as she looked back on some of the photographs taken during her 2015 reign.

Cllr Dodds attended a total of 762 engagements, sometimes up to six per day, with one in particular seeing her reach particularly dizzying heights.

"Abseiling down the Old Library is one event I will always remember. It was thrilling and I loved it but I said at the time "never again".

"Another main highlight was the opening of the Broadway. That was a proud occasion for Bradford.

"My whole year was fantastic and fun-packed . I gave it my absolute all and enjoyed every minute even though it was an exhausting itinerary. I still had a house to run at the end of the day," she said.

An exhibition of photographs taken by Clive Whittaker has been taking place at Cornerstone Church, in Great Horton Road, depicting around 300 events Cllr Dodds attended and showing the people she met.

She added: "Meeting people and chatting to them was a highlight of the year and the exhibition has helped to show people what a year as Lord Mayor involves and what we do. It is a great honour to represent the city in this way and be able to talk to people and explain to them the role we take."
