PUPILS at St John's Middle School experienced the social, living and learning aspects of studying for a degree in an afterschool Children's University.
Students recreated the three sides of university life using junk-modelling, in an attempt to introduce them to new experiences and develop their skills.
Children created a disco room for the 'social' aspect, and set up a student-style apartment, complete with kitchen and bedroom, to recreate the 'living' aspect.
For the all-important 'learning' side of university life, pupils created a lecture theatre with a bank of computers and study desk.
The Children's University is an international charity which encourages pupils aged five to 14 to develop their interests.
A spokesman for the school said: "At St John’s, we offer many clubs and activities for the children to become involved in.
"In order for the children to gain as many stamps as possible, we are also trying to get the clubs and activities in the local community validated with the Children’s University."
Anyone looking to validate their school club as a 'Learning Destination' with the Children's University should visit childrensuniversity.co.uk.
