TWO burglaries were thwarted in Bromsgrove within hours of each other this week, with offenders trying to break in through the back door on both occasions.

The first incident took place at a property on Vicarage Road between 7pm and 7.10pm on Wednesday, February 15, when the homeowner heard a knock and went to the front door.

Upon realising the noise was coming from the rear of the property, they went towards the back door only to find it open with a man attempting to enter.

The homeowner shut the door and the male, who was white and wore a woolly hat, ran off.

Just hours later at 2.20am on Thursday, February 16, a homeowner on East Road was woken up by a noise and went towards the back door of the property.

After seeing a light shining through the blinds of the door, the homeowner pulled the blinds back and saw two males in dark clothing stood outside.

Both males then ran off after leaving damage to the door handle.

Anyone with information on the incidents can call police on 101 quoting reference number 0645s of February 15 (Vicarage Close) or 0290s of February 16 (East Road).
