A SCHOOL in Bromsgrove has been given a much-needed funding boost for its outdoor learning programme.

Fairfield First School received a £500 donation from Anglian Home Improvements, as part of the company's nationwide appeal to find 50 worthy causes in time for its 50th anniversary.

A panel of judges, including television presented Philippa Forrester, decided to help the Stourbridge Road school continue their work engaging children with the environment.

Scott Smith, headteacher at Fairfield First School, said: "In order to continue to make a difference to the local community, we rely heavily on funding which is getting more difficult every year. We are therefore extremely grateful to Anglian Home Improvements for its donation of £500 which will go towards the costs of providing a valuable and effective learning service for the pupils.”

The donation is set to go towards purchasing camping equipment.

Steve Hoadley, divisional managing director for Anglian Home Improvements, said: "Fairfield First School stood out to the judges for the invaluable contribution it makes to the local area, and we were delighted to announce it as one of our #50for50 winners."
