VOLUNTEER drivers are needed for Bromsgrove’s community transport service.
Bromsgrove and Redditch Network (BARN) is set to take over the running of the district’s BURT bus, which offers a service for residents who are unable to use public transport.
Gary Roskell, BARN chief executive, said: “We're really looking forward to taking the reins of a service that already provides so much value to the community.
“We know there are more people that need help from BURT though and to reach them we are going to need more volunteer drivers.
“If you like to drive and want to be part of something special, why not get in touch?”
BARN will take over the running of the Bromsgrove District Council funded bus from May 1.
The BURT bus is wheelchair accessible and with low rise steps for easy access, and is used for getting to the shops, visiting, leisure trips, travel connections and medical appointments.
Anyone wishing to become a volunteer driver will need a D1 license to apply.
To apply, call BARN on 01527 60282 or visit burtrides.org.uk.
