TODAY marks the Queen's 91st birthday, and elderly residents at a Bromsgrove care home are celebrating with a three course luncheon, flower arranging and afternoon tea.
Residents and staff at Burcot Grange decided to use Her Majesty's special day as the theme for the meal they are entering into a chef's competition, organised by directors Cinnamon Care Collection.
The team made smoked salmon pate to start, followed by parmesan chicken with spring vegetables, and rhubarb panna cotta for dessert.
Oasis Flowers florist Tina Miles demonstrated three demonstrations in keeping with the royal theme, entitled Red Posy, White Birthday Cake, and Blue Cocktail.
Vicky Osborne, general manager at Burcot Grange, said: “We had such an enjoyable day with residents and friends of Burcot Grange. I would like to thank all my team for their hard work and dedication into making today a real success, and now looking forward to our next big event which will be our annual garden party."
