RUBERY marked St George’s day with its annual window dressing competition on Sunday.
The event, which was organised by the local St George’s Society, attracted entries from 24 shops and other businesses as part of the Rubery St George's week activities.
A trio of shops shared the title after judges struggled to separate them.
John Chatwin, chairman of Rubery St George’s Society, said: “The competition was very well contested such that the judges, who based their marking on creativity, originality and impact, had difficulty in deciding on an outright winner.
“The top position was shared by three businesses: Age UK Charity Shop, Arden Estate Agents and Spex 4 U.”
Other events organised in the week were a school painting challenge, coffee morning and a dinner and cabaret, to increase the communities’ awareness of the nation's saint's day.
