POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was approached by two men in a van in Stoke Heath, offering her a lift.

The girl was walking along Bunstford Hill at around 2.20pm on Tuesday, April 18, when she became aware of a white Combi van driving slowly alongside her.

The driver spoke to her, asking if she wanted a lift, while the passenger laughed.

But when the girl met up with her boyfriend, the men drove off.

The driver is described as a white man in his mid 20s, slim, clean shaven with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a navy blue jacket with a green or blue logo.

The passenger is described as white, in his late 20s, well built with short dark hair and a beard. He was wearing an orange high-visibility jacket.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the van in the area around the time.

PC Martyn Dudley said: "West Mercia Police takes all reports of suspicious incidents seriously.

"We are keen to speak to the driver of the van to establish his motives, which might have been entirely innocent, or anyone who saw what happened."

Anyone with information is urged to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting crime number 818s.
