A MAJOR expansion at a Redditch care company is set to create more than 20 jobs.

Rainbow Care Solutions, which specialises in providing home help, live-in and dementia care services, has expanded into a 2,550 square foot site in Oak Tree Park, Burnt Meadow Road, North Moons Moat, allowing it to offer elderly customers special days out.

The company, which launched in 2005, is calling the new venture Rainbow Day Out.

The expansion, which included redecorating and kitting out the building with modern offices, cost more than £37,000 to complete.

Owner and managing director Florence Britton said: "We needed a bigger Redditch facility because we required enough room for customer activities like sing-a-longs, quizzes and dominoes – a place where they could come and enjoy themselves.

"This was the right size, it is quieter then where we were previously and there is a lot of car parking."

The business, whose Leamington Spa arm was recently rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission, had the five-year lease in a deal put together by property agents John Truslove.

John Truslove director Ian Parker said Oak Tree Park was an excellent location with easy access to the motorway network.

He added: "Rainbow Care Solutions is building a significant business and continues to grow.

"With the UK’s ageing population, the care sector is much in demand."

The business has more than 300 customers, over 120 employees and it is looking to establish a franchise operation.
