A TAXI driver was punched in the head after his passengers refused to pay in Alcester.

Warwickshire Police are appealing for information following the attack at 2am on Monday, May 29.

The driver picked up two men in Leamington Spa, who asked to be dropped off in Hopkins Precinct.

When they reached the destination, the passengers said they needed to go to a cash point but instead walked off without offering payment.

The driver then tried to stop them, but he was kneed in the stomach and punched on the back of the head by the offenders.

The men are described as white, male, aged in their 20s, wearing shirts and jeans.

Enquiries are still ongoing.
