STUDLEY is set show its creative side as the town plays host to the second annual Festival of Arts next weekend.

The festival will run in the town for a week, between Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 25.

The line-up includes, 20 community and business venues around the village displaying art, live music and open exhibitions.

The Artists Workhouse on Redditch Road, which opened in last year, will be the main hub for the whole event as they open their 10 working art studios to the public.

Each resident artist will invite visitors into their studio to experience their work first hand –styles include: painting, drawing, ceramics, textiles, photography, illustration and installation.

After a successful first year, the artist-led studio have reached out to their fellow village businesses to ensure this year’s festival is an even wider celebration of art and music.

People will be able to join in with the Studley Arts Trail which sees visitors discover the various works of art in each host venue.

On Sunday, June 18, musicians will be performing at various venues during the afternoon and evening – free maps and a full list of events will be available from the Artists Workhouse.

There will also be a Pop-up Café, live music and a celebration evening on Saturday, June 24 when prizes will be awarded for winners of the Regeneration Open Art Competition.

Curator and owner of the Artists’ Workhouse, Dawn Harris said: "We are so excited to be bringing this celebration of the arts back to Studley, we have the benefit of our experiences of our first event last year and we have also been able to collaborate with more members of the community to bring an even bigger event.

"Studley is a creative place with a big heart and we are looking forward to celebrating that for a whole week."
