AN 88-year-old Bromsgrove woman revisited her childhood dreams when two tap dance groups performed at the care home where she lives.

Housman Court organised the visit for resident Mary Rice, after she shared memories of tap dancing as a child with staff.

Activities organiser Carina McAuliffe posted an appeal on social media to track down a local dance group willing to perform for Mary in Housman Park.

Spirals Dance and Performance Academy and Elite Performing Arts responded to volunteer their time and both performed a special show at Housman Court earlier this month.

Carina said: “The staff and residents and especially Mary's family were overwhelmed as we were entertained by two dance schools, who entertained us with a variety of dances including tap and ballet.

“I myself was overwhelmed with each and every performance. The children danced to a very high and professional standard and kept everyone entertained.”
