IF you go down to Forge Mill Needle Museum this June, you’re in for a big surprise.

On Friday, June 30 the museum will be hosting its annual teddy bears' picnic from 10.30am to 11.30am.

This popular event is for under 5s and their carers and includes a teddy trail, songs and games as well as a craft activity.

This year to celebrate the museum’s 'Summer of Pirates' theme, children are asked to bring their teddy dressed as a pirate or a princess.

The activities are followed by a picnic in the grounds where visitors can enjoy using the site’s play area.

Access and learning officer Debbie Lakeman, said: "We always have great fun at this event and this year we are hoping lots of people will get on board with our Pirate and Princess theme, don’t forget your teddies and your picnics."

Places, costing £4 for each adult and child, must be booked in advance by contacting the museum on 01527 62509.
