A POPULAR Sidemoor nursery has bid an emotional final farewell after closing its doors following more than two decades of care.
Daisychain Home Nursery, on Broad Street, closed for the final time on Friday, July 21, after caring for the district’s children for the past 23 years.
The site was first launched by Sue Onion, 60, and Janet Turberville, 62, in 1994, but both have decided to call time on their nursery due to retirement.
Staff and children marked the ‘end of an era’ with a party which included a bouncy castle, games, and ice creams.
Sue said: “It was a brilliant day.
“We have lots of flowers and presents, as well as tears and memories. It was very emotional.
“It is sad to close but after 23 years both of us decided it was enough.
“We have had some lovely families and children so it has been worth it.
“We would like to thank all the children and families who have attended Daisychain, past and present, for all their support and custom over the years and to wish them and all the staff success and happiness in the future.”
