A FUNDRAISING bash in Stoke Prior has helped raise more than £800 for a children’s charity.

Bromsgrove’s biggest car lovers, the Vagmen, held their second ‘Mega Meet’ event on Sunday, August 6, at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club.

The event raised vital funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice, to help towards the charity’s work caring for children and providing support for their families.

One of the organisers Dali Kaur, who is also manager at the charity's shop in Rubery, said: “We couldn’t be happier with this year’s turnout and everyone had a fabulous time.

“We would like to say thank you to everyone who visited, donated and enjoyed the Mega Meet 2017.

“We’re very proud to have raised an even bigger sum this year for Acorns vital work.”

The event featured a fully-licensed bar, a charity raffle, live music, face painting, and a bouncy castle.

Gemma Timmis, community fundraising officer at Acorns, added: “We rely on fundraising and events like this for the majority of the nearly £10 million it costs to continue providing our care, so thank you to the Vagmen and everyone who supported this brilliant event on the day!”
