A PHOTO competition will be held in Bournheath this month, in the hope it will bring the wider community together.

Bournheath Village Community Centre will be hosting the contest for the first time on September 23, while members of Bromsgrove Photographic Society have volunteered to decide the winners.

Entries are welcome from adults and juniors across three categories - 'Bournheath View', 'Animals', and 'Countryside at Work'.

Events organiser Anne Galbraith-Jellie said: "It's the first time we've held an event like this but it's hoped it will bring the village together and also attract people from the wider Bromsgrove region to Bournheath.

"We also have a lot of elderly people living in the village so we want to invite and welcome them to join us too."

Bournheath Parish Council will be providing refreshments on the day, with all proceeds going to Primrose Hospice.

Entry costs £1 per photograph. All photos must have been taken by the entrant within the last year. Call Anne on 07866436919 to enter.

The event is free to attend and will run in Claypit lane from 11am to 1pm.
