TALENTED pupils at Bromsgrove Preparatory and Senior Schools took part in a 'Big Sing' to put their singing skills to the test.

The event was organised to inspire students to sing in harmony, learn new styles of music - including beatboxing - and explore what their voices can do.

James McKelvy, director of music at the school, said: "The Big Sing day was superb fun. Ms Vango led pupils and staff in song on the new Routh Concert Hall stage and in the Memorial Chapel.

"All of years six and seven, the Prep and Senior Chapel Choirs and even a staff choir were put to the test, and the delight on everyone’s faces said it all.

"Singing really is the best medicine."

The Routh Concert Hall is one of Bromsgrove School's newest facilities, set to open officially in November, as part of its new performing arts centre.

The development also includes the 300-seat Cobham Theatre, a large drama studio and suite of new music classrooms and rehearsal areas.
