A £6.7million care home in Bromsgrove, which is set to create more than 100 jobs, has marked its latest construction milestone with a ‘topping out’ ceremony.

The Care UK team at Chandler Court on Recreation Road were joined by developer and construction partner, Stepnell, and guest of honour district Councillor Rita Dent.

Jo Gill, home manager at Chandler Court, said: “I am delighted to have been a part of this milestone as we step ever-closer to opening the doors to older people in Bromsgrove.

“I am thrilled too that Councillor Rita Dent was able to join us for the occasion and I look forward to welcoming her back to see the home once complete.”

“When complete, the purpose-built care home will boost the provision of quality residential care for up to 81 older people, as well as creating jobs for the local community.”

David Berry, contracts manager at Stepnell, added: “Our team are delighted to have marked this key stage in the construction programme with our partners at Care UK.

“We’re all excited to see the impressive building beginning to take shape.”

The new four-storey care home, which will feature 81 ensuite bedrooms, has been designed to enable its residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence.

The care home, which will welcome its first residents early next year, will incorporate space for hobby and leisure activities and will include its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.
