AN obsessed hotel worker is facing life behind bars for killing a “caring” primary school teacher in a horrific hammer attack.

Romanian Lucian Stinci, 34, was so infatuated with Florina Pastina, 36, that he installed spy cameras to watch her in the shower of the shared house where they lived in Croydon, south London.

Even though she showed no interest in him, he sent her Valentine’s Day cards, describing her “magical powers” and saying she was the “most beautiful creature from the universe”, the Old Bailey heard.

Stinci will be sentenced by Judge Richard Marks QC at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

A BRITISH tourist who was pulled from the wreckage of a fiery helicopter crash in the Grand Canyon is now in a “fair” condition at a Nevada hospital, authorities have said.

Jennifer Barham, 29, had been in a critical condition since the sightseeing helicopter from Las Vegas went down on February 10 on tribal land outside Grand Canyon National Park.

A spokesman for the University Medical Centre of Southern Nevada said the 42-year-old pilot remained in a critical condition.

The Spice Girls stars will join former footballer Thierry Henry and actresses Olivia Colman and Helen McCrory at the London Palladium on Tuesday to celebrate the achievements of young people supported by the Trust.

Those recognised have overcome issues such as abuse, drug addiction, homelessness and depression and have gone on to have successful lives.

NORTH Korean leader Kim Jong Un had an “openhearted talk” in Pyongyang with envoys for South Korean President Moon Jae-in, the North said on Tuesday.

It is the first time South Korean officials have met with the young North Korean leader in person since he took power after his dictator father’s death in late 2011 — and the latest sign that the Koreas are trying to mend ties after a year of repeated North Korean weapons tests and threats of nuclear war.

North Korea’s state media said Mr Kim expressed his desire to “write a new history of national reunification” during a dinner on Monday night that Seoul said lasted about four hours.
