THE food hall at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year's Farm Shop & Deli Awards.

Food at Webbs launched its new-look foodhall and restaurant last spring, featuring a butchery, cheese and deli counter, gelato bar, bakery and patisserie, chocolate library, a wall of wine, local beers and ciders, and a restaurant selling homemade dishes.

The facility has been nominated for 'Food Hall of the Year' in the 5th year of the Farm Shop & Deli Awards, which recognises the best of the specialist independent retail market.

Webbs' executive chairman Ed Webb said: "We’re absolutely thrilled to reach the finals of the Farm Shop & Deli Awards, which reflects how hard the team work to ensure our customers have the best food and drink shopping experience.

"We’re proud to be recognised by our industry peers and the voting public, and look forward to the finals."

Food at Webbs, based in Worcester Road, now attracts more than a million visitors every year.

Staff will find out if they've won the Food Hall of the Year award at the Farm Shop & Deli Show at Birmingham's NEC on Monday, April 16.

Chair of judges Nigel Barden said: "It’s gratifying to see lots of new names amongst the finalists as the awards are becoming even more respected.

"The food and drink retail sector continues to attract inventive, hardworking entrepreneurs.”
