BROMSGROVE Sporting boss Brendan Kelly believes having midfield man Liam Spink back on board will be like signing a brand new player.

Spink suffered an horrific leg fracture back in December - but has since made a remarkable recovery.

Kelly said: "Liam is already back running and working on an exercise bike and is confident he'll be ready for the start of season.

"He's already proved himself at this level of football when at Rushall Olympic and Redditch United and I admit we've missed his energy in the middle of the park.

"Liam is a naturally fit lad and has kept himself in good shape. The fact he's way ahead of schedule in his recovery doesn't surprise me and it will be a massive bonus to have him back on board."

Kelly has also offered new terms to Jack Wilson, the boss added: "He was one of our unsung heroes of last season. Jack finished the season very strongly after enjoying a consistent run in the side. The better the opposition, the better he played".

Kelly also confirmed that striker Jason Cowley would commence pre-season training with a National League North side.

Kelly told the Advertiser: "Jason hasn't received a firm offer yet, although there has been interest from two National League North sides.

"Jason is at the stage in his career where he needs to be tested and he's deserved that chance, although he does start the season with a five match ban.

"But if nothing comes of his pre-season spell, he will come back to Bromsgrove Sporting."
