PEOPLE with a taste for the country life are in for a treat at the Hanbury Countryside Show.

The event, on Saturday July 7, is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the show ground at Park Hall Farm, Hallowfields Road.

The NFU Mutual main arena headline act will be the Broke FMX motocross stunt team.

The bikers will be joined by the usual array of main arena entertainment including the grand parade of heavy horses, a farming in action demonstration and historical vehicle parade, mounted fancy dress and a parade of all the champion livestock.

Family attractions and activities will include a farrier competition, children’s amusements and archery, rifle shooting and fly casting.

Even the family pet can get involved in the ‘happiest dog with waggiest tail’ competition and the fun dog show.

The show will also feature a horticultural marquee, a traditional crafts area, a display of goats, a team show jumping competition, a steam engine display and an opportunity to walk an alpaca.

There will be a variety of live music in the bandstand including Andy Bennett, formally of Ocean Colour Scene and refreshments will be available from a variety of food stalls and the licensed bar.

Tickets costing £10 in advance are available from hanburyshow.co.uk or £12 on the day, under 12s get in for free and there is free car parking on site.
