ANIMAL lovers are invited to a charity fun day and pet show at Jinney Ring Craft Centre to raise money for local dog charities.

The 'Animals R Magic' event on July 22 will feature fun dog shows with classes to find the best junior handler, best rescue and waggiest tail, as well as donkey rides, face-painting and agility and obedience demonstrations.

Visitors can get up close and personal with some unusual creatures, including Madagascan hissing cockroaches, and talk to experts on the charity stands to find out about volunteering opportunities across the district.

There will be a falconry display at 2pm by Bromsgrove falconer Gino Belmonte, and raffles, tombolas and competitions throughout the day.

Local businesses will be holding stalls stocked up with animal-themed crafts and gifts, and refreshments will be on sale.

Profits from the entry costs - £4 for adults and £2 for children - will be split between the Warwickshire and West Mercia Retired Police Dog Welfare Fund and Birmingham Dogs Home.

Animals R Magic is open from 11am to 5pm in Hanbury Road.
