A PET food company in Bromsgrove has been presented with a Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of its sales success overseas.

The First Class Pet Company - the team behind Little BigPaw complete wet foods - was awarded the international trade prize by the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Lady Rosalind Morrison, on August 7, after being announced as one of the winners on Her Majesty's birthday in April.

The ceremony was held at the company's Worcester office and was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Worcester, representatives of the Queen's Award Committee, and directors of the Chamber of Commerce.

Co-founder and director Jim Weston previously told the Advertiser: "We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award.

"It is a huge honour and an outstanding reward for all the hard work put in by our staff and dedicated distributors."

Little BigPaw, whose head office is based in Marlbrook, sells a premium range of wet pet foods and treats, including cat mousses and single serve meals, which are all made in the UK using British ingredients.

The firm was also awarded the UK Pet Industry Federation Exporter of the Year Award in 2017 and won the Innovation Award at the China International Pet Show in Shanghai last year.
