GENEROUS residents from Bromsgrove and Droitwich Spa have been thanked for their kindness after the success of this year's Advertiser/Messenger Give a Can a Home Appeal.
The annual appeal, set up five years ago to help give animal adoption centres in the area a much needed boost during their busiest period, has again proven to be a run-away success.
Residents in Bromsgrove have been busy filling the collection bins at our High Street base throughout the Christmas period, while residents in Droit- wich paid a visit to Wychavon's Community Contact Centre to also make donations.
The appeal closed just before Christmas to enable the donated food, clothes and toys, to be distributed to the centres that rescue and take care of a whole variety of animals - the Blue Cross Centre at Catshill, the Danemere Rescue Centre at Tibberton, the Cramar Cats Sanctuary at Hopwood and the Cats Protection League at Wythall have again all benefited from the campaign.
Another organisation to benefit from this year's kind offerings was Greyhounds in Need, which takes connections for the charity in the Wychbold area.
Neil Edwards from the Blue Cross Animal Adoption Centre said: "We are very grateful to everyone who has supported the campaign and to the Advertiser for their continued support. "All the animals here will benefit from the food as they wait for a new home."
